Pict.com - An Easy and Efficient Free Image Hosting Service - A Brief Review

There are so many image hosting and sharing services in the internet that its kindda confusing to go for the right one. esp because, most of them are restricted to members only file-uploading, file type limitation, file size limitation etc. So, when we got the offer to review a new one, I wasn’t that interested in the first place. But Pict.com changed it for good. It is a hassle free and absolutely undemanding free web image hosting service.

What I liked About it

1. The speed with which it uploaded two pics from my desktop. It took only 5 seconds to do that while imageshack took the same for 25 secs. QUICK it is.

2. The ease with which you can upload. Go to that site, click once and you have the option and there you are.

3. Pict.com provides different type of links for sharing your images. Using these links, you can share your images in different ways:

• Show to friends. Allows you to send your uploaded image to anyone using email, ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, IRC etc.
• For boards. BBCode. Allows you to post your image on boards and forums.
• For blogs. HTML code. It is perfect for posting uploaded images on websites like Blogger.com, LiveJournal.com, eBay.com
• Direct link. Allows you to hotlink the image.

4. You can also send your picture directly to some mailboxes too with their share e-mail option.

5. The thumbnail-ed view of many uploading options at a single page at a time is very helpful too. I uploaded three pictures without waiting in the queue. Upload as many as you want at the same time. Saves a lot of time.
5. There are no limits, no duration and again, the uploaded image can be deleted just by a click on the red cross button on the top-right corner.

Conclusion

As a matter of fact, I didn’t see anything that could turn me off from using Pict.com. Its very easy and efficient. With time I hope they will make their homepage and the whole get up of the website more attractive. I give it my vote.
