gmail Google Voice is the Internet based phone forwarding service by Google. According to the official Tweeter company feed, 1million calls have been made during first 24 hours in US using Google voice which is integrated with Gmail yesterday. The company announced the integration yesterday through the feed. This may not be a big news from the company. However, this is a gentle push to the company’s 2.4 million followers on Twitter that a new free service is available to them.

Google Voice is added automatically to Gmail accounts in the U.S. The application gives you a separate phone number which you can give out as if it is your regular phone number. You can then change your settings to have calls forward to any of your phones  The service allows users who don’t have a Google Voice number to use the service anyway for outbound calls that show a generic Caller ID number. The company provides free service within US and Canada except international calls.
