I am astounded by Google satellite view. You must check it out. It can provide you with hours of fun and geography lessons. I wish it was there when I was learning geography.

Why would the top of the buildings be shaded in? What are they hiding?

I was wondering about that, there are clear signs of editing. It is simply an outline that remains.

Did you notice that the tops of the buildings have been edited? :)

There was a discussion about this back when Keyhole was first offered by Google.

If you like that, you should download Keyhole. I think it uses the same data but it’s much more flashy.
