Google Beats Microsoft in Smartphone Market: Gartner

According to the Research firm Gartner, Google Android based smartphones ranked fourth for the Jan-Mar Qtr, beating Microsoft Windows Mobile. Although, 10% of the Smartphones sold are Android based phone, Google stills falls behind Nokia, RIM and Apple. Global cellphone market grew by 17 percent because there is a 49% jump in smartphone market on year-on-year basis, Gartner said. The research firm continued that Smartphone sales to the end users witnessed their strongest year-on-year increase since 2006.
