Microsoft Unveils Windows Live Portal

Microsoft unveils Windows Live portal and search interface which is like good ‘ol excite.com on AJAX diet and some more.

The key features are:

• Search results allows controlling the level of details using a scrollbar
• Results can be scrolled using a scrollbar and fetched live with AJAX. It is hard to use because it is small and also you lose the sense of location. Horrible on usability.
• Ability to add search results to your portal
• Email, weather forecasts - the usual portal stuff
• Ajax based sections with drag-n-drop

Personally I am not impressed especially wrt. usability. Nothing new or innovative or handy worth highlighting.
